They have since gone out of business. (Aircraft & Rebuild, Inc, Rt. 1 Box 315-A, Omak , Washington 98841) (509-826-4770). CHECK THAT - Washington, not Oregon. I don't know who bought them out. Now this is one product that I have had my hands on and if Ivo hasn't changed his props in the last 5 years all I can say is the in-flight adjustable unit should not be used on something that will someday find itself "in-flight"!! Plain and simple this thing is a accident waiting to happen. The one we removed had less than 50 hours on it and I would guess it probably would have failed in the next 50. Actually it had failed but not severe enough to cause a problem. There is no doubt in my mind this thing would have eventually broke a crank or worse yet ripped the engine right off the front of the airplane. The construction of this unit NOT airworthy. So all that being said I am sorry if you bought one and if you did sell, use it as a door stop or a wall decoration. Now that Viking is under new ownership things may change but Vikings support was typical (not that good) of the small homebuilt companies (didnt even have a pilot on staff). I knew I wouldn't need support building the KR so that wasn't a concern for me. I built the Dragonfly first (to about 60%). Sold it due to recycling a wife. I had to make a decision 3 years ago to build another Dragonfly or a KR2S and even though there are 5 completed Dragonflies at my airport and support from local builders would have been great I decided to go with the KR2S. The Dragonfly is a great airplane but has too many limitations as well is MUCH harder to build than the KR series. Limitations such as having to use a VW (or similar) engine, very low ground clearance, bad landing gear design, absolutely no short (medium for that matter) field performance and slow cruising and top speeds were enough to steer me in the direction of the KR2S. A typical Dragonfly with a 2100VW will do about 135 mph (140 solo on a good day). This is flat out not cruise by the way. A well built KR with the same engine will do 150 mph and take off and land in half the distance required by the Dragonfly. I have a friend who installed a C85 then a O-200 in a Dragonfly in search of more speed and performance but because his max prop diameter was 52 inches he just couldn't get things to work out. He sold it and is now building a EZ. Do yourself a favor and build a KR2S. I know that RR is a cash only operation but once you get your plans you will not need RR for support because you have KRNet!! :o) -- zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Micheal Mims SP290 (Sky Pig 290) ,..Still Building the Cowling... mailto:mikemims@home.com http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Hangar/4136/ Aliso Viejo Ca ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: Ivo Prop!!!!
