And if so can you direct me to your web page that may show some good pictures of how you handled the stub wing to outer wing interface. And after much thought...I will probabily build a KR-2S. I like the mods some people are doing. And because I can never leave something alone I will also make some changes. The first will be the airfoil, I will use AF5048 if testing goes well. Other changes include streching and widening fuselage. Has anybody built a KR with a Jabiru 80hp 123lbs and a 6cyl 100hp 161lbs? Take a look at Richard Mole's excellent chapter on engine cooling. THis is actually a reprint of a two part article that he had published in a UK flying magazine. It is based on his research and work in improving the cooling on the Limbach L2000 in his Jodel D-18. It is well worth the time of all VW powered KR builders to take a look at this great addition to the On-Line Manual. If we can keep getting submissions like this, the manual project will be a success. manual: http://www.evansville.net/~boeing/project_viking To subscribe to the project_viking mail list send an email to majordomo@evansville.net with the word subscribe in the body of the email. Several pictures are on my web site and I can provide more. I also have the control system drawn in Autocad and can provide that to anyone. -- Don Reid Bumpass, Va. mailto:donreid@erols.com KR2XL at http://www.erols.com/donreid/kr_page.htm Ultralights at http://www.erols.com/donreid/usua250.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: Engine cooling From: Steven Eberhart Date: Tue, 13 Apr 1999 14:48:01 -0500 (CDT) X-Message-Number: 5 I blew it again. If anyone tried to access the Online Manual web site tonight (April 12) and had trouble accessing anything, it's probably because I was in rearranging a few things. Try it again if you had problems. Sorry for any inconvenience. Kimball Anderson isleno@hargray.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: Elevator Bearing info needed From: Michael Taglieri Date: Wed, 14 Apr 1999 01:53:00 EDT X-Message-Number: 8 Having recently purchased the Volksplane VP-1 plans that were being offered on this list, I would just mention that the Volksplane stabilator uses three hinges, each made of three AN46-25A eyebolts and three AN46-17A eyebolts (because of different thicknesses of wood). A 3/8" bolt with castlenut and cotter pin goes through each hinge, and the holes in the wood for the two center eyebolts in each hinge are 1/16" oversize for alignment. The hinges are laid out so the two end pairs of eyebolts are mirror images of one another, to prevent lateral movement. This looks like a very durable setup, although it would be a hell of a lot heavier than the KR design.
