I found a good source of quality paper at a reasonable price from "Kingspor's Sanding Catalogue, PO Box 3737, Hickory, NC, 28603-3737 Website, www.sandingcatalog.com I am working on a KR-2S, presently fitting the canopy Hope this info is of use to some one out there. It is a water based primer and pin hole filler. The neat thing about this stuff is you roll it on, no sprayer necessary. It really does work rolling it on. After you have applied several coats, go back at it the sand paper and the dust will fly. With it being water based, the carrier evaporates and the only thing you have left on the surface is the material itself. The stuff works as advertised and will save you days and days of sanding the cussing. The guys has a hit here. John has already made the offer to send more of the product to me so that I can put on another forum at this years gathering. I talked to a mechanic friend and told him I needed a ECU from a '84 Brat fuel injected turbo and he found me one in a matter of days. works great. Now I have no idea if my engine is out of a '84 Brat. I do know that Brats all had EA81s and I needed a ECU for a turbo, fuel injected EA81. I believe you could get a ECU from a 4WD station wagon as well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: The proposed Sport Pilot License From: Steven Eberhart Date: Tue, 22 Jun 1999 11:11:32 -0500 (CDT) X-Message-Number: 6 On Tue, 22 Jun 1999 Willard561@aol.com wrote: > I think that the stall speed may be one of those gray area's, that they break > out the books and calculate it. It is imposed by the aerodynamics. 40 mph stall and 1100 lbs gross weight are the limiting factors. That is why I am so interrested in optomizing the airframe. New airfoils, attention to intersection drag, etc. THere is a large area to work in to create the lowest drag highest performance aircraft that you can actually use to get somewhere with Steve EBerhart ------------------------------------- http://www.newtech.com/nlf One test is worth a thousand expert opinions but a thousand opinions are easier to get. --plagiarized from an unknown author All information, in any of my aircraft related correspondence, is strictly food for thought and is in no way intended to imply that it is anything more than ideas requiring additional, qualified, engineering analysis. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: WWW - lyris message search From: "Rick Hubka" Date: Tue, 22 Jun 1999 10:41:44 X-Message-Number: 7 How long has that great message search capability been available at the bottom of the WWW KRNet message list? Or am I just stupid and never saw it before? (Back off guys don't answer that). I'm just finishing AV plywood on both sides and am about to make the "big widening decision". I did a search on "widen" and WOW!!! you guys talk out widening a lot... OK. OK. I'm definately widening the top 4" and using the dragon fly canopy. The bottom is going to be widened 6" or all the way out to having totally vertical sides. Also I will increase the length of my inner spars to keep the same wing exposure and wing stub tanks. I am moving on to the tail section after this. I have not even ordered my spar wood yet. I am holding out for the results of the new airfoil after Troy flys/tests them. 3% done and 200% to go... They're all single-place machines, and basically, it's up to the manufacturer to show it meets the limits as a Part 103 ultralight. I think it's checked at touchdown, which in a KR is after you get through the long float, not the speed of a wheel landing. The TEAM aircraft all had flaperons for this purpose. TEAM always said they were there because it was necessary to meet the 26mph limit rather than perform a needed function. Now I think the KR-2 will stall under 38 knots in ground effect, which is where every other aircraft is at touchdown, although most are not affected as much as a KR. -Tom -----Original Message----- From: Willard561@aol.com To: KR-net users group Date: Tuesday, June 22, 1999 11:17 AM Subject: [kr-net] Re: The proposed Sport Pilot License >I think that the stall speed may be one of those gray area's, that they break >out the books and calculate it.
