Ought to see the performance increase a little going from 1835 to 2800! Do you already have the engine and rear drive? I beleive you will be the first to do this kind of installation. There are many of us on this list who are interested in this type of setup. I finally have all my pushrod drawings finished. This is the system I have in my plane which, of course, is flying. To me a pushrod system is a lot simpler than the cable system and much more positive in action. If any of you would like a copy of the drawings please send me your home/work address or your fax number and I would be happy to share them with you. It took about seven minutes to read = my KRNet E-mail, Several of the posts were about E-mai, Some more = posts were administrative. =20 I guess, as usual, I learned a lot from Mike Mims. =20 I had tried to send a letter to all of you, but it ended up going back = to Mike. I wasn't really wanting Mike to the the only receiver, In = fact, if I could have just once accomplished a "Reply to All, except = Mike Mims" that's what I would have done. I cutting and pasting the motivators for my reply first, that way you = (y'all) will have an idea of what has led me to write my second post = about the casual use of the RE: Button. Couple this with a post I = wrote earlier Subject: "Too Fat. Too Skinny." And you may begin to see = why some of the frustration we all feel from one extreme to the other = (Extremely judicious use of the net vs. Free flowing use of the net) You will recall: "--- smithr wrote: > I posted the message about the C85 thinking that it > was more in line with what was wanted by KRnet, only to be surprised by Ed's response that I shouldn't have * posted this question.=20 Then: " From: Mike Mims [SMTP:kr2sflyer@yahoo.com] Sent: Monday, October 25, 1999 12:29 PM To: KR-net users group Subject: [kr-net] Re: Making KRnet better Your C85 question was perfect for KRnet. Screw these people who want to decided what we can and can not talk about. I wish they would all GET OFF THIS LIST!=20 Oddly enough a C85 is a factory recommended engine for the KR so how the hell does that not meet the criteria for posting? I thought about sending this off net but I want everyone to know how I feel about people that have a problem with someone asking questions about a C-85, widened fuselage, different airfoils, other power plants types that will work, etc.,etc.,etc. they can get the hell off this list and do it now. Almost all of the post on the list in one way shape or form has something to do with a KR and I think that there are many people who feel the same way I do in that they want to hear peoples responses to these post. If not let me know and we can just move to our own damn list. BTW, I for one wanted to hear Jeffs response because I had forgotten the differences myself. Also if anyone out there would like me to return my little award that I got at the gathering because my post seem to be nothing but trash and non KR oriented these days, just say the magic word! So I replied: " I'm not even sure anymore who is going to get a post and who isn't. = Is a reply such as this going out to the "450" or is it going out to = Mike. If it is going out to the "450" KR-net users group, then this is = what I want to say: Please don't overuse the "Reply" button. I agree with the group that = agrees that a KR related question is good for the KR-net users group. I = don't mind using the delete button. What I mind is when I thread goes = on and on without changing the subject, yet the subject has been long = forgotten and is no longer the "subject of any of the thread." That = means I open up a posting (takes time) glance at it to see if it is = important (to me) takes more time, and then delete. This process goes = on and on. Please take the time to truly identify the subject of your = post. It may be looked at by fewer people, but several things will be = improved. Those who are truly interested in the subject will likely = read it, it will ease tensions on the net because less total time is = being wasted by the "450", and you won't be as likely to get a bad name = for writing about things that offend people. =20 I truly love the net. I look forward to posts. It's a great place to = learn. All this fuss over the last couple of weeks has be thoroughly = confused. Did I miss something? =20 One more thing...Mike Mims wrote: " I think that there are many people who feel the same way I do in that they want to hear peoples responses to these post. If not let me know and we can just move to our own damn list." =20 I will likely go to what ever list Mike Mims goes to. I removed as many parts from my plane that needed finish work as possible and brought them home to the garage. Needless to say I have been filling, sanding, filling some more as well as sanding some more. The Canopy door has 3 coats of smoothprime on it and is ready for sanding with finer grit paper before I add the final 3 coats. Its looking pretty darn good! The rudder and ailerons are coming along also. After these pieces are done I plan on bringing the engine cowling home and start on it. This weekend I will mount the canopy door latching system. Another week or two and the entire plane should be in smoothprime (except the cowling) and ready for the white base coat. Then its time to hang the engine and hook everything up. Anyway that's what's up at Mikes airplane factory. ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
