I can not find any info on actual cockpit width or headroom, alhtough the latter is not quite as important (such as in a Mooney where the lack of it is compensated for.) If anyone can give me a comparative description of the cockpit compared to a Mooney or Cherokee I would be very appreciative. Also, if anyone has a fuselage under construction or a plane in flying condition near Melbourne, FL I would be very interested in having a look at it. Thanks a lot! It also came with 3 schematics of the engine - top, side, and rear view. The measurements appear to be in millimeters instead of inches. When I converted the units I came up with the following maximum dimensions: If you are looking directly at the prop flange ... Width: 31.23" (793.35mm) Height: 23.88" (606.58mm) Depth: 29.28" (743.80mm) (prop flange to "firewall") Depth: 19.29" (490.00mm) (prop flange to rear wall of crankcase) Question #1 to the Engine Heads: Do the above figures seem consistent with an engine that could replace a Continental O-200? The brochure also states that it is a direct replacement for an O-200 and that it will fit directly onto a TMC O-200 radial mount. Question #2 to the Engine Heads: Is this the type of mount that is used in the KR's? Does anyone have any drawings of the KR-2S O-200 mount on a website? I would appreciate any assistance with this. Coincidentally, the Franklin website is at http://www.ezlink.com/~franklin. What else ... oh yeah, today is Friday so "anything" goes, right? ;-) Project Update: I moved the KR-2S into my dining room for the winter. Yes, my dining room. I still have to do some interior renovations, but that can wait until spring. Besides, I'm single w/no dependents and the rest of the house is done. So I said to myself, "Hey, this would make a great HEATED workshop for the winter. And I don't have to worry about getting dust and stuff on the carpet and walls because I'm going to redo them anyway!" It's great to be able to come home, change into jogging pants and a T-shirt and get to work on the KR! ;-) So, since the project came indoors I've installed the shear web braces that support the forward spar, the top shelf, and some extra braces at the firewall and the sides of the fuselage where the seat will eventually go. I still haven't developed the photos but I will place them on my website as soon as I have them developed. Until then, happy building!
