Better be darn sure of the design !!!! The break-up occurred during a high-speed pass down the runway. The pilot and passenger were both killed when the main spar failed (I think) while traveling in excess of 200 mph (by some bystanders estimates). If you're interested in the closest thing in existence to a monocoque fuselage, go check out Dr. Dean's web site. He could have answered the question more thoroughly had we not chased him off KRNet with our incessant child-like bickering. My Earthlink account was compromised and I cancelled my subscription immediately. I apologize if I inconvenienced anyone. I will notify you if/when I have another website. Also, the following email accounts are no longer valid: apec97@hotmail.com gryphonflier@earthlink.net Before I go, I have one question (ok, 3 questions!): Does the grain orientation of the firewall spruce matter? I can't tell from the black/white photos in the manual, but I have seen some pictures of the grain going vertically. Is it ok if it is installed with the grain going horizontally? What are the pros/cons?
