Basicly I attached two yardsticks to the wheels, and had dropped chalk lines on the garage. Then I measured the distance from the ends of the yardsticks to calculate the toe-in. As to the setting, I don't recall if I used a setting from the plans or from Tony's book. -- Ross peter wrote: > hi group,i recently sent in a e-mail regards to some help on mounting try > gear, but had no response ,what I would like to know is how you set the toe > in or out and how you mount the the nose gear, and do you use some kind of > compound on the mounting brackets for the spar the tri gear I am using is a > Dan Diel. Pulled away from the garage wall, I could lay out and glue one side of the fuselage on one side of the jig table, and lay out and glue the spars on the other side. I usually had two projects going at once, as I got really board with laying out gussets, and found that laminating up my spars and vertical cross members was a good diversion while doing a couple of gussets every night. -- Ross Gaylon Fuller wrote: > I finally have recieved my plans, serial #955-994. I would need to increase the price a few $$ to cover the shipping from S. Africa and shipping to the buyers in side the US, probaby another $5 each. This makes the models cost about $20-$25 each. Anyone still interested? I want one. -- Ross ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Off Topic stuff from the Admin From: "Ross R. Youngblood" Date: Sat, 05 Feb 2000 07:35:50 +0000 X-Message-Number: 4 Two tips from the admin. If you want to use your PC for free long distance telephone calls my old barber in Oregon told me about http://www.dialpad.com You can dial any number FREE and talk for 20min. Then start over. If your friend is online, you can call them via the net, and talk computer to computer. I just thought I would throw this out so fellow KR-netters could chat with each other. The software has some export restrictions, and you have to click on "grant" access if you are using netscape so the software can use your system to place and recieve calls to your headset/microphone. If you are looking for a computer upgrade, http://www.memoryshippers.com I just bought a 400MHZ Celeron PC and motherboard for $128. It will be here Tuesday. Sorry for the off topic stuff, but I was talking with my friend for about three hours last night, and since the KR-netters seemed like a chatty group, I thought you would find free long distance valuable. -- Regards Ross ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: KR2 Models From: RFG842@aol.com Date: Sat, 5 Feb 2000 14:38:04 EST X-Message-Number: 5 Ross Count me in for a model. It was finished in 1985. It has 8hrs tt on it. The guy said he after he built it he could not figure out how to keep it from overheating (large VW engine). It has sat ever since. He laughed when I told him I was 6'1". He said I would never fit. It was built to the plans. How feasible would it be to modify it so I would fit? Thank's for all the great info. Anyway, I just did a little update at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/kmarkl.html , which includes finishing up the firewall (I didn't show a picture of that, since I used a lot of clamps, and there was that hideously scabbed top spruce member) and my final version of the water-jet-cut instrument panel. I guess I need to pick up a little Rustoleum to put a top quality paint job on it.. Now, let me see how long this post takes to get back to me. Synchonize watches..........MARK! This avoids the entrance of polluting material. Also, I mentioned my elevator being out of alignment due to the shrinking cables. IGNORE THE POST!!! I actually think the cold has affected my brain, not the cables. I figured out after much thought what happened.................long story. I am just glad I don't have to worry about the integrity of aircraft cable.
