I guess I put mine down there to lower the ground plane below body level, something that I was told was a good thing to do. You could easily stick it out in the wing, but that's one more wire you'd have to disconnect when you take the wings off. But you're right, there's nothing wrong with perching it on the under side of something suspended above the floor, but I suspected that the mess would look unsightly... I used contact spray adhesive(#77) to bond the aluminum foil to the floor. I then drilled hole in the middle(eyeballed) and mounted the transponder antenna. That was nine years ago. The only problem that I have had is that I must keep the antenna clean from oil, exhaust, bugs, etc.. If I had it to do over again, I would put the antenna internal either in the wing or fuselage and forget about it.. So I have now orginized the Perry '98 experience into a page of thumbnails which you can click on. This is much better than the crummy stuff I had online before. http://www.krnet.org/perry98/index.htm If someone wants to orginize the Thumbnail shots by catagory, go ahead and edit the .html stuff, try it out, then email me the file as an attachment, and I can post the alternate pages too.
