I have checked with some foam outlets and all they have is foam rubber or polystyrene. I plan on checking with a local boat builder he is a composite guru and may be able to help. Another question is on the weight, is there any kind of info on how much some of the sub assemblies oughta weigh? my boat with gear and center spars wing stubs n stuff weighs 130 lbs is this in the ballpark? Also, I am still in the market for a powerplant and am not totally sure on which way I will go if anyone has one for sale I may be interested, thanks Mike ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Aug 2001 10:22:22 -0400 To: "Mike Wolf" , From: "Jerry Mahurin" Subject: Re: KR> Foam Message-ID: Mike, Years ago I got my foam from a commercial refrigeration repair service. They use thick slabs of polyurethane for the insulation in commercial walk in freezers. I was able to raid their 'junk bin' and haul off all I could carry for $20. I got enough to build the plane with some left over. I just had to do a lot of cutting because the slabs were about 4"X4'X4' and of course most were chipped and/or broken. I hope my tale of good fortune will aid you in your search.
