Some say 30 others 28 and I'm kind lost on this matter. Leo; Recommended tire pressure could depend on many factors; runway surface, gear arraignment, type of brakes, type of tire, etc. My KR2 is a stock retract with mechanical brakes and Lamb tires. I land on only hard surfaces. Therefore I use a low tire pressure of about 22 pounds. I find this low pressure still gives good control yet a relatively short landing roll, and I don't have to use the brakes very hard. Your conditions may vary. If you fly the test card exactly as planned you can very accurately calculate the G loading on your KR. Where the G meter comes in handy is in confirming that you did fly the test plan accurately or in documenting the actual loading encountered when something outside your plan occurs. I've got a G meter just to the left of my Airspeed. I plan to use the tell-tale to confirm each step of the test flight. There is a significant difference between the loading in a 50 degree bank and a 70 degree bank level turn. Each of them is only ten degrees off the nominal for a 60 degree 3G turn. The G meter also provides a cross check that confirms the ability of the pilot to fly the test as planned. This is particularly important in a KR where the flight control input is so low. Very small deflection and very light pressure can cause significant differences in the flight path of a KR. The first time I took the stick in a KR I put Marty Roberts and myself on the roof because I over-controlled his KR. Mark- you probably have about as good an idea as anybody, since your airplane will be different from almost every other one out there. Only one KR is close to flying (publicly) with the Corvair and Dave Stroud's CorvAIRCRAFT Christavia is probably way different under the cowl from what the KR is, so check the usual suspects and see who else tosses ideas out. You'll already know to place the filter where it can be spun off easily (duh) and the cooler where you can get the air ducted into and out of it. But as far as the plumbing itself, here's some good general information on the flow direction, from Bob Hoover (on VWs, but good general info anyway)- >To plumb an oil filter into a lubrication system that didn't >have one to begin with [VWs], we must resort to hoses and fittings. >In doing so we make the external plumbing and the oil filter canister >the first thing 'seen' by the pump's output. Since I don't get most of the KRList posts due to AOL, I'm not sure if something like this site has been posted. At any rate, it checks for and gets rid of about 12 viruses including the BadTrans. It took less than 3 or 4 minutes to check for and clean out mine and found another one from about 6 months ago that I didn't know I had. It's a free 940K download from Panda Software. Jim Hayward Rapid City, SD - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The program is called PQremove. When installed, it went through my entire hard drive and removed every trace of badtrans. Norton Antivirus 2002 no longer detects its presence. Norton also couldn't fix it but only isolate it. This program fixes it. Message-ID: <3C133678.558090AB@rogers.com> Hi Netters. I was just looking at my Taylor Mono plane tie downs that the previous builder had install. Would a flush or slightly recessed tie down case more or less drag? Yes i know it's not much but at least it would look better. Adjustable rudder peddles? Those of you flying with your kids. Have you ever wished the rudder peddles could be adjustable. My 6 year old is pretty comfortable at the controls of a C-152. They will give you $150 core credit on each of the two Bendix mags. With one mag core credit I purchased two new slicks complete with wire harness for about $1100 for my 0-200 and I believe the new ones are now rebuildable. Check "Trade-a-Plane" and make some phone calls for best deals. It works for nearly every phase of the flight so I only have to remember one. Checking these four items should get me through any phase of flight and safely back to the hangar. The status of each item is determined by which phase of flight you"re in. (You guys flying retracts will have to add one item) I simply call it " FM's". (as in FM radio) Fuel Mixture Master Mag's (It's possible to go from engine start-up to shutdown in my Tripacer without touching the master switch. I'd have no radio, fuel indicators, lights, etc. It has a two position master switch and if the fuse blows on one side, you can move it to position 2 on a second fuse. I had it blow on roll-out during a night landing once. It got my attention!!!
