A longer bolt is easier to bend. Most, if not all, prop hub extensions that I have seen have two sets of bolt holes; one going forward and one going rearward. That way, you have only short bolts. We had considered using a prop hub extension on our project but decided not to after consulting with several highly respected engineer types..... And we even have the Force One front end on our engine which is the strongest that I know of....
