The original plans call for you to shape out some foam and cover it with fiberglass and resin, not a real hard job to do. Then along came Dan Diehl and marketed a couple of shells you could attach (glue, epoxy) onto the spars. They are a little longer, about 20" or so per wing. Now I understand that Rand is marketing wing skins. And then there is the issue of a 'new' airfoil and I'm not going there.... I have Diehl skins on my current project (which can be seen at http://www.jerrymahurin.com ), but if I were to do it again; I just might make them as per plans but a little longer.
