As I was telling Mark in an earlier e-mail (see, "reinthused") I have = just recently stumbled onto the KR web sites and I have been scouring = all the pages and links for about a week now.=20 I have an old project that I need to get restarted. It is a KR2 that I = began many years ago. It has been carefully preserved and is in very = good shape. It is in the boat stage which is finished? if they ever are! and it's = on the gear (original Rand retracts) up front and a good tail wheel set = up out back. The tail feathers are on and glassed, the wing stubs have = been completed, no flaps-yet. The spars are finished but have not been installed. Controls are in and = working, the canvas seat is in and useable. I have a Dragonfly canopy = that is not yet installed. I have an engine mount for it installed to = hold up a type 4 VW 2600cc Great Plains engine with mechanical fuel pump = (some didn't have it) mounted to Diehl super case with built in starter = and alternator that has been test run complete with aluminum spinner and = a Posa slide carb. The prop was originally for a 2100cc VW engine and = was good only for test running. For instance I believe I may want to buy a Rand engine mount (which = one?) I don't really like mine.=20 I think I want to change the main landing gear to a Diehl fixed gear = with wheel pants and hydraulic brakes. I really think I should change my airfoil to the new AS5048 tapered to = AS5045 as suggested, which would mean pulling off the skins on my wing = stubs which is not a big deal at this point. Besides I was contemplating = putting wing tanks in the wing root anyway with possibly a small header = tank up front since I have that engine mounted mechanical fuel pump to = transfer fuel. Oh yes, I may want to get rid of that Posa carb. Well, I've been jawing enough for now. If anyone cares to share their = thoughts on this subject with me, I would be glad to here from you.
