If you don't have it, dig out your original installation cd, go to Control Panel, Add/remove Programs, you'll see a tab at the top of that window where you can add Windows components. The Character Map will be under one of the categories listed there, I think it's under "accessories" but it might be somewhere else, I don't remember. Several folks have asked me if I'm doing anything at all on my plane lately. I've been really busy at work, plus I made the mistake of taking on some after hours work (for a fee that I couldn't refuse!) for a close-by small business. But I still manage 6-8 hours a week on the plane, and I've been doing little jobs like fairings for transponder antenna and fuel tank vent, and trying to finish up smoothing out the bottom good enough for urethane primer. I'm going to try to install the MAC trim servo soon. Yesterday I dragged it outside and sanded off most of the last coat of urethane primer, in preparation for a coat of paint, perhaps. I wet sanded it with 320 and 400 wet-or-dry, and it looks pretty decent now. I'll update my web page to reflect my recent work during the week before Christmas, when I'm scheduled to do a week in a NYC hotel while delivering and training their bomb squad on the use of their new "portable" waterjet cutter that I had a considerable hand in designing and building. The stuff I've been doing on the plane can be appended to several existing pages, so I'll sprinkle these details all over the place to finish them up. Right now I have the front end ripped off of the wife's Audi A4 (and I'm not kiddin') to put on a new timing belt, and that'll shoot the rest of the day, I suspect... You have a higher probability of being struck by lightning than killed in a plane crash. The most dangerous part of flying is the drive to the airport. If it is the same or probably within 1/2", the KR2 gear would probably work. The spar attach bracket could probably be shaved down a small amount without affecting it's strength.
