I thought it rather easy to land. Landing on the tailwheel first was by far the easy way to go in that plane. If there is a good, smooth (ie., well rolled) grass strip nearby and if the tires on your KR aren't too tiny, you might consider flying there at first. Grass is VERY forgiving of sloppy rudder work. On pavement, you can reduce your tire pressure some which will make the plane a bit less sensitive to your alignment with the runway. This will shorten the life of the tire, though, so I wouldn't try this except for initial training. Maybe I can save some other builders some money. 1) Spinners: Find a discarded spinner from a larger airplane that has cracked in the area where the prop fits into the spinner. Cut it down to fit. Once you are satisfied with the length and fit over the prop, build the back plate that fits between the prop and the prop extension hub. Take a look at a commercially produced backing plate to see how they used nut plates to attached the spinner to the backing plate. Save yourself about $300. 2) NACA Vents: Determine what size vent you need by comparing the area you have to work with and commercially produced NACA vents. Draw the vent on the side of your engine cowling or fuselage. Use your die grinder to cut out the vent, leaving the small part, (leading edge), attached. Push the material in and use fiberglass and aero dynamic filler, (bondo), to hold the "pushed in" material in place. Use mico balloon or polyester puddy to put the finishing touches on the vent. Prime and paint. Any question? Please ask.
