Franco,
You have some really nice features on your KR. Especially nice are your solutions to the canopy latch, control stick, instrument panel, and your fuel tank design.

Hello KR Flyers,
I had various people emailing me and telling me how they got taken by the THIEF BILL CLAPP in Georgia, and asked me to update them if I find a phone # for him. Here is a phone # for him that works as of this morning 229-219-1072.
THE CROOK BILL CRAPP said if you cant get him on his phone you can call his buddy ART BRUCE in Georgia at 912-729-1616.
Also, I found out info on his work, friends, etc that can be contacted about the CON ARTIST BILL CLAPP if needed.
Safe flying, John

I agree with Dan about speed taxing , my first homebuilt whas a Moni =
motorsailer single place with only one central wheel.
It whas very difficult and dangerous to control the plane at high taxi =
speed so i' ve pulled the trottle forward and up to the sky,
Airplanes are made to fly , then you must land , just make a landing =
not an arrival. Ground is hard.

Franco,
Do you still have the Moni? I am building one right now with a 4-cycle,
4-cylinder engine. My pastor said, "Why didn't you get a two seater so you
could fly me around to my meetings. That's when I found a built KR2.
I went to your site and saw the Moni called an AS10. What is an AS10?
Looking forward to getting back in the sky,
Fran

If you folks haven't taken the time to look at this one, it's well worth it.
Very, very nice work! On the 'landing gear' page is a shot of the Diehl
gear legs that would answer about 50 FAQ-type posts per year on this list (a
picture is worth a 1000 words, but only 50 FAQ posts). On the 'controls'
page are some outstanding images of the dual-stick setup that would answer
about another 30 FAQ-type posts about dual-stick setups that we see on the
list every year. And on the 'miscellaneous' page is a shot of the belly
brake Franco is using, that would answer... at least 10 FAQ-type posts ;o)
The first image on the 'miscellaneous' page, of the complete plane (less
finish) really shows the classic lines of this KR. She's a beauty! (Franco:
would that be "è un bell'un"?)
Surf and learn, folks... it's all out there in living color for our viewing
enjoyment!

Nope, in that photo she's subsonic. Read the full caption for that photo
here:
http://www.af.mil/news/Feb2003/21203367.shtml
Interestingly the data sheet on the B-1B here:
http://www.af.mil/news/factsheets/B_1B_Lancer.html
Says the aircraft is now capable of supersonic speeds. Yet when I worked on
the test team for five years the aircraft was subsonic capable only. Inlet
design changes from the B-1A to -B model meant going subsonic in exchange for
more stealth. The inlet designs incorporate strake and airflow director
plates that effectively hide the fan from radar but contribute to drag along
with other airframe mods kept top speed down. As far as I know it's
supposedly still subsonic only, at least in level flight. Maybe in a dive
but I wouldn't want to be on board when it was attempted. That is unless
they've made some radical changes since I worked on the jet but when I worked
at Tinker Depot where the B-1B depot maintenance and mods are completed, I
hadn't heard of any changes that would enable such speeds.
It's been a few years, spring '95, since I last had anything to do with the
aircraft when we did a defensive mod to protect a vulnerable area above the
engine pods. The first B-1B loss was attributed to a bird impact at that
location and my unit was tasked to perform the armor installation there.
Since then, I periodically see a B-1B on display at airshows and the placard
proclaiming supersonic speeds yet I've never spoken with an aircrew who said
it could go that fast or that they had done so in it.
Interesting data point for discussion. I'd like to hear from any aircrew who
have gone that fast in a B-1B other than a dive and what's changed in the
powerplants/airframe to make it possible.
Also, no need for supersonic speeds to make such a show. I've seen sheets
like that come off the F-16 I was in several times. I wasn't the pilot, just
a weapons officer at the time.
Sorry no KR data in this email but I did just hear that the last KR fuselage
I built and assisted in the wings is now close to being finished back in OKC
so that's sorta list related. :)
Regards,
Walt

Netters,
Frank Ross is right, I do not know Bill Clapp or Art Bruce but I do
know the law and some of the material I have seen on the net leaves the
publisher wide open to a law suite that could take everything but his skin.
Bill Clapp may be the biggest crook in the world but if you tell everyone
that he is, you dam sure better be in a position to prove it or you may end
up being worse than sorry.
The KRNet is for the purpose of the exchange of ideas and contributing
information gained from building the KR Series of aircraft. Lets all try to
keep it that way. When we detect a cheater or crook, the best thing to do
about it is to advise the membership to be careful when doing business with
this individual.

Folks,
Art Bruce name and phone number was not listed to imply him of any wrong doing. I don’t know the guy, and I was in no way painting him as a bad guy like the Crook Bill Clapp.
It was Bill Clapp that told me on the phone to call Art in case I can’t reach him and gave me Art number. I don’t know Bill neither, except that he ripped me off. I thought I was actually helping people that got ripped off by Bill get the contact info.
I had too many private emails telling me how honest and nice guy Art Bruce is. I received an email from him, offering help and telling me he does not know the thief Bill Crapp nor has any association with him.
I wanted to apologize to Art Bruce publicly, and make sure that I clearly state that I’m not accusing Art Bruce of any wrong doing neither have any intentions to associate him with Bill Clapp.
I have no idea why Bill Clapp gave Art name and phone number as a contact.
Sorry Art.
To be clear again. Art Bruce is the good guy, and Bill Crapp is the thief.
Safe flying, John

This is a great net and I have learned a lot in the week or so I have been on
it (mostly lurking). One thing I learned is that I am not ready for the KR's.
Not nearly enough time in the air. So I will will leave the net for a while
and rethink my flying needs and desires.

Aloha Joe:
There is no reason for you to withdraw from the net. Even if you are
not ready to build now there is much to be learned from reading posts and it
costs you nothing. In other words, you have something to gain and nothing
to lose.

Aloha Joe,
I forgot to mention the fact that there are many times when you will
see a KR project for sale on the net. These are in various stages of
completion but all will save you work and money because the person who is
selling out is usually willing to sell for less than he/she has invested
just to get rid of their project. All you have to do is go to the place
where the project is for sale. If upon inspection the work done so far is
good and the price is right you will save a lot of money and work.

Hey Joe, Listen-----till you build a KR which will take at least 3-5 yrs
you may have another 150 or so hrs.
Just a thought, Good Luck!

Joe listen to what these guys have to say this is one of the reasons i am on
the Kr list no matter what you think you know, you find out things you didn't
know or you have forgotten, stay on the list for your own well being, who
knows you may have ideas that know one else may think about, i used to work
at Piper Aircraft in the 70, s i have forgotten a lot of what i
thought i still knew, I read what some of these guys have to say and it
brings it all back So stay with us I am building a mold for of i own design
and read what is said, well I'll shut up now see you later To all the pilots
in this mixed up world we live in be safe and happy flying and don't jump out
of a damn good airplane
