Actually, I was the last one to update that page, and yes, it's been a long time. And it had been years before my update. I looked at that page the other day and thought to myself "maybe at the next Gathering I'll line everybody up and take a decent picture of them and update that thing". The problem with that page is that it was done by Ross in some HTML editor, and the formatting makes updating it a real pain, at least for me. I've asked for pictures in the past and gotten little, if any, response. And the ones I get are usually terrible photos that require me to do a lot of cropping, and other work just to get something identifiable as a human being or an airplane, and I really don't want to spend a lot of time goofing around with it. If somebody wants to take this thing and really update it and keep it that way, I'm all for it. Otherwise, I'll line up some folks at the Gathering, take more photos, and update it when I get around to it. Seeing what the guy on the other end of an email address looks like goes a long way towards making him a human, rather than just some jerk at the other end of a keyboard. If anybody wants to come up with another format that works better (like thumbnails that can be enlarged to full size, for example), I'm open to suggestions. Bring 'em on! And Bud's email address was just updated... The fuselage made the trip yesterday (Wednesday) and the wings and misc should make the trip today and tomorrow. The paint booth is built and now I need to have the painter look it over to see if it is ready to paint. My attempt to take some pictures of my trailer, for those that requested photos, and document the move met some snags. After shooting a number of photos ( I thought) I realized the camera had no film. A disposable camera found in our daughters room when moving her to an apartment appears to totally exposed, and the digital camera of the person helping me move the project had a dead battery. At least the move was made with better results and the KR sets safely in the hangar. I'll keep you posted with future progress and (maybe) some photos. I'll be flying in on either Sunday (preferable) or Monday and all KR's that aren't camping should try to park in the automotive engine area. I am working on updating the presentation for Forum, with Mark's help, and have some pretty = exciting video I will be using for talking through the landing presentation. = This last Sunday, I took a friend who is in the video business (like Video Bob) and he went for a 1st flight in my KR to the Cape Girardeau airshow. The entire purpose was to get a video that showed what it was like in the phases of landing a KR. We just finished editing the video and it exceeds my expectations. For those that have never flown in a = KR, this is as real as it gets. We did a really good landing and then on = the way back, I let him know we were going to do a botched approach that = we would have to correct for. This required a good slip and a bit of a bounce that was all captured out of the canopy. Pretty good friend to = do this with me! Anyway besides the landing sequences, you will also see the KR up close and personal with an F-18, F16 and a Blackhawk helicopter .... on the ground. They also gave me permission to make closed traffic, a low approach and an abrupt vertical move to leave = the area which is also on tape. This video will be shown at our talk at Oshkosh. By the way, I got to see several KR people which was why I = went in the first place. Thanks for the hospitality Mike and Larry. For = those that aren't going, you will have to wait. My friend, also named Bob, = has volunteered, once I'm back, to finish the edit with my narration of = the landings and then encode it for delivery on the Web. Hopefully by late August. Take care and I hope to see everyone at Oshkosh.
