The location would be Corona, CA which is in southern california with fairly stable temperatures, and not very much rain. I was going to make a complete cover for it. Tie Downs at Corona AJO can be obtained for $30 per month, and hangers generally run around $300 per month. There has been a glassair out there for several years with no cover and seems to have faired fairly well. Was just looking for input, I am planning on flying it quite often, and may actually dismantle it in winter time and garage it. However it would probably never get below 45 degrees in the winter time, but we do get some short but heavy rain. I have done it before....in nortwest Alabama climate. For UV protection, consider some type of alluminum fabric...salvage stuff is cheap. I found some discarded plastic air conditioning duct, covered with aluminum fabric. Removed the fabric and made my covers. (heating and air conditioner contractors ought to have lots of this) Seal the joints (I used tape) where water can run under the cover and get into the plane....for instance, the gap between front of canopy and fuselage. Also, make a cover for your prop. I used some convertible top (scraps) material...... cut it to fit and sew it up with some nylon fishing line....or something that will withstand the weather. With a little effort and your pleasant climate, you should be able to save lots of bucks. One source for sticky-backed rolls of sandpaper is McMaster-Carr. Go online to http://www.mcmaster.com/. Go to the bottom of page 2514 of the on-line catalog. I've used this paper. I used two pieces of oak screw&glued together to form a 'T'. Then go to your local hardware store and buy a long(as needed) piece of non-skid(peel & stick) strip used as safety traction strips on concrete/metal stairs. The non-skid strip acts as about a 50 grit sandpaper. I work at Home Depot and we sell the non-skid strips by the foot and they come 1", 2" and 4" wide.
