I really like your plate. My project is at the airport. I met with the painter today and it looks like we shoot paint next Saturday and Sunday. I'll be busy this week with final details but should easily be ready for the weekend. Red Oak ??? Chances are looking slim but I've not given up yet. I've taken some pictures of my trailer and would hope to post in the next few weeks. I'm saving the last picture on the roll to take a photo of the wife's car back in the garage after 7 years! Just a little cleaning out and it's photo time. That photo will find a spot in my builders log. There is a KR forum given by Jim Faughn at 2:30 on Wednesday, at Forum tent number 10, if I'm not mistaken, and a KRnet get-together after that, I do believe. I guess I better find out for sure, since I'm supposed to have a part in it. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. Also go to www.eaa.org and look for the Great Plains VW engine forum and William Wynne's Corvair forum. I won't swear that either of those is taking place, but they usually do something at Osh... Sorry about the old # Since this is going out to the entire net, is there anything legally or ethically wrong with me selling the one set of plans I bought from R.R. in 2000? I love the design and would really like to fly. However, I have had these plans over 2 years during which time my business has been very slow and my wife seems to think spending money on building an aircraft is unwise.(To put it mildly) Naturally I have to get along with her. I was close to buying an uncompleted project recently at a great price and my wife got very unreasonable about the whole thing. I love flying and I love my dog, but in the end, I guess I love sleeping in my own bed more than in an unfinished KR, or the doghouse. It is unfortunate your dream has to end this way. My wife was totally against it also five years ago when I started my project but she has come to understand my love for my hobby. Plus I always used the scenario that "at least your husband is at home and not running around bar hopping like a lot of your friend's husbands do". That always made her stop and think about it. Now she actually gets out there and helps when I need her to. Anyway, if you do sell your plans, you should at least report the sale to Jeannette Rand so she can update her records. The new owner of the plans should contact Jeanette Rand and register as the new owner for Jeanette's records as the ownership of the plans allows you to build one KR aircraft from them. Message-ID: <000801c35536$1e76e850$6765020a@Trent> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Precedence: list Message: 12 My KR-2S project is for sale. It is located in Longview, TX. You can learn more about the project at. www.geocities.com/trentflemming/ The fuselage is basically complete; the wing spars are complete, but not drilled for the landing gear attachments. The spars are the bigger size in order to use the airfoils created by Mark Langford and team. However the fuselage has not been cut so if someone wanted to use the stock spar, it should not be a problem. I honestly cannot remember all the details as I have not worked on the project in about 4 years. I have a dragonfly canopy that is still in its protective wrap from the factory. The color is charcoal grey if I remember correctly. It comes with the upper landing gear bracket that mounts to the larger spars. The wood firewall is ready to be installed. I have a couple sheets of foam. A couple of videos from the gathering and a video on the corvair engine, it also comes with a ton of information all bound neatly and even organized. It was kind of a book of mods that I was planning and organized by what stage they should be integrated. It includes a corvair engine conversion manual, KR-2S plans, manual and the new airfoil plans. The widest section measured at the top of the fuselage is: 38.5" The length is: 144.5" In my opinion the wood work is excellent. I am asking $1500. If you have any question you can email or call me.
