Greed is the motivating factor that causes people to lose their good sense. What will happen, for those that do not know the scam is that they wait for a replay and then ask for your fax, telephone so that they can discuss in detail the transfer of funds to your account. What they need is your bank account number and routing number from the bank, once they have that they will withdraw your funds. I have been intimately involved with the various scams coming out of Africa, mainly Nigeria and now the Ivory Coast, and the best way to deal with these scams are not to answer it in the first place. Hope you all understand what can happen. I suspect the mechanical forces are very similar though. I must confess that I came across that gas spring much by chance after trying several from "Auto Zone". The tube is 6.5" away from the firewall on mine, as shown at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/corvair/mount_fit.html . It's also right at 6.5" above the bottom of the firewall, when the plane is level. This gives you a thrust line that is about 2.38" below the top of the longeron. In this setup, the fuel pump barely clears the top of the cowling, and you might end up needing some "nostrils" to clear the intakes, unless you do something heroic with a welder like I did at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/corvair/intake.html . I wouldn't really recommend it though, as it locks you in to one intake system forever. And it was pointed out to me that if I ever get stuck at a foreign airport, I'll have to have a mill and a TIG welder (rather than just a replacement head) to get home, but then I have that problem anyway, since mine's a 3100cc engine with bored heads and case... Using the Nissan Sentra 1.6L starter on the rear set up, gives me 1/8" clearance between the starter and the firewall. I do have three bumps on my cowl. One each on the intakes (standard intake pads and not milled) and one for the fuel pump. In all honesty, I was concerned about the looks of the humps at first but once I finished the cowl and modified the humps from the mold I used, they really do not look too bad. Some creative paint work is planned to accent the humps.
