We are metric but it isn't a problem to get drill bits in inches, it is just that I have never seen a longer than normal drill bit anywhere on the shelves here. Maybe I just havn't looked hard enough. I haven't made much progress with the crank taper torque test lately apart from picking up a scrap crank and having the hub pulley machined to accept the flange that must still be welded on. Will post the results as soon as I have some. Thanks again Mark. For someone who has an unpainted KR flying it's test period off, one just may be able to sand the flox area down to accomplish a desired flight characteristic. By all means, if you want to go the trim tab route it will accomplish level flight but we are talking about two different things. Lifting a heavy wing by aero methods and installing a ground adjustable trim tab are two different animals. Willie sent me two more pictures. The one at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/katkinson/k10.jpg shows the wing storage system in the trailer, along with a guide rail that makes "parking" a one-man job. http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/katkinson/k9.jpg shows a little more detail of the WAF system. I've incorporated them both into the page at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/katkinson/ for those who missed it. Willie said he'd get more details when he sees Ken in January and forward them to me, and he also reminded me that he's Scottish, not British. Back when I spent several weeks in Wales, I learned that to call a Welchman "British" would probably result in a black eye, and apparently there's something similar going on with the Scots as well. Willie flew 747-400s on transatlantic crossings for British Airways for years, and if you ever get the chance at a Gathering to spend time with him, by all means don't muff it!
