I found that most of the paint went on the plane, instead of on the floor. It is definitely more efficient than a conventional spray gun. I also found that you needed to hold it much closer to the surface. With a conventional gun, I would work about 12 to 14 inches (30 centimeters) from the surface. To get good flow out, and coverage, I found it worked better at about half that distance. Otherwise, you get orange peel that would make oranges jealous. Your results will probably vary. I have had great luck with HVLP guns. Single stage blowers do a poor job on water based finishes tho, but work adequately for oil and acohol (laquer) based products. Hope your system is 2 or 3 stage....much better. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dene Collett (SA)" To: "krnet" Sent: Sunday, October 24, 2004 5:52 PM Subject: KR> HVLP > Hi again > A while ago there was a lot of talk about HVLP spraying systems and I > did read them all. Today, I found 5" pneumatic tires and tubes. These are used on all terrain scooters. After flying in Marti's KR2 with the solid type scooter tire and hearing how loud the wheel is on the ground, I would switch over to this pneumatic tire immediately. Wheel & Sprocket is the name of the store I was in that carries these. http://wheelandsprocket.com/site/page.cfm?PageID=12 Unfortunately, they are only located in Wisconsin. Maybe some of your local bike stores have something similar. I thought it was "Wofter-Saber" but some things may have changed in the last couple years. They sell through AS&S also. If this is the same company you'll get your moneys worth. I seem to recall there was a lady owner or co-owner that was doing the machining. I called to order a 4" extention and they had a 5" on the shelf they wanted to sell me for the same price. Duhhhhhh ! And no waiting? Duhhhhh ! My extention was "A WORK OF ART" ! All diameter changes are radiused so no fatigue points. Stainless steel prop lugs and a black anodized (?) coating of some kind. I hated to even take it to the workshop and get it dusty! :-) Larry ------------------------------ Message: 14 Date: Wed, 27 Oct 2004 19:28:57 -0500 From: larry flesner Subject: KR> Tail Wheel - Pneumatic To: KRnet Message-ID: <3.0.6.32.20041027192857.007945d0@pop.midwest.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" At 01:23 PM 10/27/04 -0500, you wrote: >A lot of you are looking for pneumatic tail wheels. As soon as I seen the tire, I knew it was what the tail draggers needed. The tire is 5" OD and I would estimate inflated it is about 3/4" diameter. they had a price of $14.95 on the tire and $9.95 on the tube. I forgot to check the hub price.
