In the past as part of my job I did a lot of work on choosing powder coating equipment, and powdercoating vendors. My opinion is you get what you pay for. First the most important thing in powder coating as any painting process is clean parts. That said the system you are talking about is probably just the application gun. You will need a heat source to cure the powder. There some problems in powder coating known as the faraday cage effect, where you will not get a consistent coating thickness. After all my research I opted to vend the process out. One of my projects was to find a vendor for black rinkle finish for Harley Davidson, I finaly found one but it was tough. I hope I do not sound to negative, but for the small amount of powder coating you need I would find a good vendor. Also if you only have a few pieces that would be to small to meet the minium charge join with someone else needing powder coating. I hope I helped you out, if you have any questions I will see if I can help you out. Some folks have mentioned building a KR twin. You're not the first to think of this. Check out http://www.krnet.org/misc/kr3_twin.pdf . The specs are rather interesting. Although I'm not a handwriting expert, I think this is Ken Rand's work, dating back to mid 1972. I got this several months ago with the KR1 and 1B plans that I bought from South Africa's Royce Kitney.
