I used 2 layers of carbon and 1 layer of the regular KR glass on the inside. There was also a 2 or 3 inch carbon strip run along the edges and a big X through the middle of the top and bottom halves. I didn't mold in the joggle because I'm using apiano hing on both sides. Hope this helps. They are drilled and counter sunk from the inside face, sanded cleaned and floxed in place, Then one layer of bid, KR glass lapped over the hinge to the cowl inside. I carefully put Vaseline inside all the hinge holes before I mixed epoxy this morning. I have the it curing for an hour or so now, then I'm going to take the clamps off and reassemble the cowl to the fuselage with the piano wire, remove the last cleco's and let it cure in place so that hopefully every thing will come apart and fit back together every time. They are definitely not flight tested, TSO'd, or approved for aircraft use.. Same thing could be done with insulin syringes, veterinary-use syringes, or similar... as long as the graduations are fine enough. The one I used was graduated in really fine increments so I could get down to really fine 'drips' and could also "inject" liquid back into the area where an air bubble normally forms as you near the end of the cc'ing procedure. Of course, you have to keep track of how many syringes-full you use, because the syringe holds only a fraction of the total needed for a typical chamber. But you can shoot in the first half-dozen syringes full before you have to start getting careful for accuracy. I think it took me about an hour to do all six chambers, one by one, including learning the technique on the first one. At least I think it was about an hour because I had to get up and change the CD before I got done. Let's see: was I playing "Round Sounds, Vol. I" or was it a Celine Dion CD? Can't remember...
