This is most likely because there are no such web sites that anyone is aware of. I have been on the KRNet for several years and have never read about one. I just want to let you know that you are not being ignored, it is just common practice on the KRNet to not post if you don't know. There is a time for building and a time for flying, and the time for building has long since expired. See N64KR at http://KR-Builder.org - Then click on the pics Daniel R. A leak into the crank case on a two stroke will cause a lean condition and soon seize the engine. Also the exhaust will determine where the powerband is so how is the pipe? Dented, smashed or as new? I assume you are testing with a load (Prop) It is posible that if your freind built a custom exhaust it is just not designed right for this engine. It occured to me while typing this that I once pruchased a honda Odessy for $100.00 the owner thought it needed valves;-) Had good compression good spark and I rebuilt the carb, even tested it on a snowmobile. Once I got it together it started on the first pull, but would not run faster than an idle. After several hours of fiddling I cut the pipe in two right at the expansion chamber. There were several years of mouse nests. We ran that Odessy for 5 years I sold it last sumer for $1200.00.Try blowwing air through the pipe it should be an open tube with little to no resintance to compressed air. hope this helps Wayne ----- Original Message ----- From: ponds27 To: KRnet Sent: Thursday, May 20, 2004 5:07 PM Subject: KR> Looking for an Italian contact to help locate KFM motor expert > > > HI KR builders. > I'm trying to help out a local builder. Mine will taper in front view only - constant 1-15/16 thickness in plan view for max glue area. Need the rear spars? Ed ____________________________________________________________ Yahoo! The speed break (as such) has no effect on the pitch of the aircraft - it's like coasting down hill with a bit of handbrake applied - your car would need a steeper hill to keep the speed up (avoid slowing down too much). The more effective the slowing down effect is (drag), the more YOU change the attitude of the airplane (point the nose down) to maintain your chosen approach speed - result, a steeper approach. We must not confuse the speed brake with a split flap such as on a Cessna 401/401 /421. In this case the flap is under the wing where any of the popular lift theories will apply. A belly board is not complimented with a cambered surface. I am really interested in the rationale behind the holes in the belly board - I always figured that they created serious turbulence /vortexes (vortexi?) and thus produced more drag than I plan surface. I have some difficulty in perceiving that they in any way reduce the load (strain) on the flap /mounting /linkage. Someone said they had it on good authority that the purpose was to kill any lift. WWII birds ha holes in spoilers above the wing - what were those for? Great topic withy much to learn - I hope more info is posted. Have a great weekend Enjoy Mr Flesner - I envy you. If I had it to do over again I would make my spar caps thicker at the root on the outer wings and the center all the way across. this would allow for plenty of meat and make locating the wing attach fitting easier.
