Please take the time to fill out the "pre-registration" form so we will have advanced info for planning. It was made as easy as possible with most information just requiring a click of the mouse button. This should help to make the Gathering a success and as educational as possible for everyone attending. That also makes for everyone having a GOOD TIME !!! The builder of a Zenith 601 using a Harley engine used one and was able to get his fuel pressure set to 1 1/2 pounds on the dial to keep from flooding his carb which I suspect is similar to yours. The data sheet claims it shuts off when the selected pressure is reached and apparently just passes fuel at or below the desired pressure. I have one inline to my 0-200 and it seems to work well also. It goes for $19.95 Cheap enough to try. After I asked the question I looked through all my paperwork and found the second part of the airworthiness certificate- The operating limitations.During section one the aircraft can only be operated in an area designated by the DAR, After 40 hrs. phase 2 goes into effect and the aircraft can be flown anywhere and with a passenger. (after making the logbook endorsement). On the back of the A/Certificate it states that it is effective for the duration unless surrendered, or revoked. The first page of the operating limitations states that-"THESE OPERATING LIMITATIONS SHALL BE ACCESSIBLE TO THE PILOT". So I guess that means they are essentially a part of the certificate, they must be carried in the aircraft as well as the certificate itself. I find it difficult to see the difference in getting a bond with the spar, if you cut the skin , then sand off the skin and flox, Vinyl Ester resin bonds better to its self than to wood, Also by sanding off the flox and cleaning up the spars, wouldn't you remove those Micro cracks? In the case of Micro Cracks, how do we then, tell if the spar material we buy in the first place to build our spars ,do not already have Micro Cracks?? Thankyou for your help. Dan ---------------------------------- Dan, I did NO damage to the spars, But I removed them to replace them, I replaced my spars for the few reasons 1/ R wing spar was warped Rear wards) and slightly twisted. 2/ R wing skin leading edge was 1" inch shorter from the spar to the leading edge., than the L wing 3/ wing ribs were very poorly cut out and seemed to be shaped incorrectly. I was told that the V/E with not cure Fully in the presence of Epoxy fumes, wet or dry. ( I'm sure about epoxy that has been cured for some time) I Fitted the 48" ply rib to the spar ends with V/E as per Dan Diehl instructions and video, and had epoxy on the ply rib to seal it, and left a clean gap for the V/E, but i could not get to them to dry fully, it always stayed very tacky to touch, so I removed it, as it did not slick anyway and then used T88 on the ends of the spars and the ply rib. We usually have a "beg" at the Saturday night banquet with the passing of the hat and the money we make from the banquet and tee shirts and hats will hopefully carry us for the following year. Linda said they started the 2002 Gathering with only $500 and managed to raise the pot to $1800 in two years. We owe them a big THANK YOU. I doubt if I'd have take on the host duties if there were considerable out of pocket expenses. So for now just squirrel away your funds for the trip, the banquet, the tee shirts and hats, etc, etc, etc and look forward to a good time.
