The reason is I have damaged one of them while removing the WAFs. Now, the current cables are stainless steel, 2mm diameter (that is 0.07 inch), and I suspect the local airworthiness authorities are not going to like that cable size. So, I checked the literature about control cables. Could not find anything in the construction manual, so I checked Tony Bingelis. He says standard size for all control cables, no matter for which aircraft they are, are 3.2mm (1/8"). Now, that is a surprise. I thought the cable size would be adjusted to the aircraft specifics somehow. So, should I go for 1/8", then? The water wasn't supposed to get this deep. Rich and Rich may have lost the Tailwind in their hangar as well. I have that day off. If the waters have subsided and you need some help moving things or cleaning up, I will be available all day that day to help. I didn't call you on last Friday because of the rain. I never imagined that the airport could flood like that! If you need help before that I could be available for a few hours before or after work before tuesday. Let me know. Building the wings on a jig just blows the old way of doing them far away. You can maintain alignment accuracy far easier and with greater precision using TET AS series airfoil templates and you get the outer panels out of the way now. I set up shaped and glassed them in 3 months I also popped out seat kits for Smith Aviation Supercub kits spare time while I worked an 8 to 5er. besides shaping the cores and glassing them is a breeze with no fuselage to contend with on a roll over jig. You can roll the setup by yourself in 2 minutes. Keep me informed If you run into any snags post a message I'm sure a solution can be found.
