You are not the only pilot rating landings bt the g meter- my buddy put my AA-1 onto the asphalt at 5.2 G's and bent the prop at a cost of 4 months and a near major overhaul. Your landings are sweet indeed by comparison. Best of luck, and thanks for the development work, much of which I have studied and will use. Bought glass and some other support stuff for modifications. New job to hopefully give me more time for flying starts this week. Hoping by the end of June motor will be built and in the plane to resume testing. Just a thought, but has anyone ever used PVC pipe for an intake manifold? Bill Clapp's fuel tanks got me thinking. Hi Colin PVC pipe softens and starts to melt in the 350degree F range. It also becomes brittle in subzero temps. I'm sure someone, some were has tried to use it, but I doubt if it was very successful. Of course, You may have better results. Good Luck! Three trips to the airport, four more hours on the clock, and 8 more landings. An hour before sunset I flew down to Guntersville Airport, a cool little strip on the lake. It was a nice little cross country so I could practice those skills, operating the GPS, leaning, and listening to that smooooooth engine hummmmmm along. At the end I got a couple of "night" landings in, and positively greeeeeased 'em on in the smooth air. Next weekend I'm going to land at Guntersville, and the 2300 foot grass strip at Moontown as well. I was tempted today, but didn't do it. I'm up to about 17 hours now. I talked to my father tonight, and he's sinking some tie downs for me at his 3600 ft grass strip down in L.A. (Lower Alabama). That's a four hour frustrating drive turned into about a pleasurable 1.2 hour flight, and with 50% better fuel mileage than my VW gets! I think I'm hooked on this already...
