I purchased this little bird as a project requiring a new engine. The airframe has 350 happy hours. Original KR2 stock build tail dragger. Aircraft built by licensed AME. First flew in 1985. Always hangered. All but the last 10 hours flown by the builder. Half way to adding a new engine 1835VW (150 hours flying time from Dragonfly) dual electronic ignition I started to rebuild the panel and need to recreate the electrical system as this engine has an alternator/ starter. Full logs on Airframe and contact info for original builder and previous owner of engine. Asking $6K or best offer. Pictures available, Like all aircraft in project stage, its best to review it in person. I'm probably leaving as early Thursday morning as I can, a little later if I'm dodging fog, but I'd expect to be at MVN by 11am or so. Troy says he may have to go later in the afternoon, and if that's the case, I may wait for him and get there later. Some adult supervision wouldn't hurt on my first cross country as PIC in years. I'll just get up high and cruise, saving altitude for gliding if I need it. I'll probably have to leave Saturday morning and miss the banquet, due to a family funeral I need to go to on Saturday. Too bad I can't be in on the Sanding Song! Like Jones, I'm definitely in the running for Ugliest KR. My cowling is fairly hideous, and there are lots of little things on the plane that just "aren't right". You're welcome to tell me about stupid stuff you see on the plane, but you can be pretty sure I already know about most of them! The primer job stinks, as there is dry overspray everywhere, so you can save your breath in telling me that sanding my wings down might get me a few more mph! This whole plane is clearly "unfinished", and I realize that, but at least it's flying! That storm off the coast of Florida might keep the Florida guys in their hangars... Also, go to any hardware store that sells the "sticky back" abrasive that you put on stair steps to prevent slipping. It is very corse, I'm guessing in the 60 grit range. It's not cheap but one application should last you the entire project. When it comes to sanding the foam on the wings, the heavier the grit the better. Another good material is the "wing walk" material but you really pay for that stuff. I got some from a friend and one application did both wings and the tail.
