I don't have the engine with me yet, but will check the engine carefully when I receive it. Hey Dene, (Collet - From P.E.) do you perhaps know what engine was part of the KR2S that we purchased? Thanks guys. I have one, and I think it's very clear. Lots of good pictures, loads of useful info. It even explains you how to find a good block at the junkyard, how to fix a crack, etc, etc. Serge Vidal Don Chisholm Envoyé par : krnet-bounces@mylist.net 2005-01-27 12:43 Veuillez répondre à KRnet Remis le : 2005-01-27 12:45 Pour : krnet@mylist.net cc : (ccc : Serge VIDAL/DNSA/SAGEM) Objet : KR> vw engine manuals best manual I've seen is How To Rebuild Your Volkswagen Air-Cooled Engine deals strictly with the engine and covers every aspect of inspection, recondition, assembly and setup includes type 3 & 4 engines Don Chisholm _______________________________________ Search the KRnet Archives at http://www.maddyhome.com/krsrch/index.jsp to UNsubscribe from KRnet, send a message to KRnet-leave@mylist.net please see other KRnet info at http://www.krnet.org/info.html ------------------------------ Message: 3 Date: Fri, 28 Jan 2005 06:43:15 -0500 (EST) From: Don Chisholm Subject: KR> prop hubs To: krnet@mylist.net Message-ID: <20050128114315.84127.qmail@web88012.mail.re2.yahoo.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii I'm looking for an unused HAPI 2&1/2 inch 3 degree taper prop hub and related hardware . anyone got one they might want to part company with Don Chisholm chizmsupholstery@rogers.com ------------------------------ Message: 4 Date: Sat, 29 Jan 2005 09:21:12 +1000 From: "Glasseyegav" Subject: KR> Fuel Pressure gauge To: "KRnet" Message-ID: <004601c50590$0e705700$0100000a@vic.bigpond.net.au> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Well I seem to have stared a very small debate about whether I should actually have a fuel pressure gauge. But that was never in doubt for me, I have always intended to use one. The question was. Are almost everyone using a mechanical gauge or are most using an electrical gauge???? I don't really know how everyone missed my question and went off on another tangent!!!! No more fuel access in the cockpit than necessary. The company I work for represents one of the largest manufacturers of pressure gauges in the world (Ametek USG). I have total confidence in having a mechanical gauge in my cockpit. I already have two fuel pumps in the cockpit and dual fuel lines and a primer pump. The gauge I am using is a stainless steel case with brass connections and a copper bourdon tube and a glass lens. It reads 0-15 PSI and is 1 1/2" across the face. I have it mounted on my panel right in front of my face where I can monitor the pressure effortlessly. I think that is how we all got on the subject. I really believe if you install the mechanical one right you will not have any problems. Mine is a copper line to the firewall, a thru hull fitting and a flexible pressure line to the gauge. Same with oil pressure. It probably really does not matter except electric gauges are easier to install and just as cheap to buy. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Glasseyegav" To: "KRnet" Sent: Friday, January 28, 2005 5:21 PM Subject: KR> Fuel Pressure gauge > Well I seem to have stared a very small debate about whether I should > actually have a fuel pressure gauge. I popped the cowlings out of the mold, trimmed the edges a little, taped them together with clear package tape and fit them over the nose of the KR. Two new pictures have been uploaded to http://jackandsandycooper.com/cowling.html . To remove the cowling from the molds I separated them at the firewall end then used a yard stick to run between the cowling and mold as Mark had suggested and they popped out very easy. I'll try to get some better pictures tomorrow if weather permits. I know I still have a lot of work to have cowlings but these cowlings were very easy to make. Many thanks to Mark Langford for all his work in making the molds. He must have a bazillion hours of work in the molds and is willing to share his hard work with us so that we can take the easy road. Mark - you da MAN. Thanks.
