Limit prop pitch to manage the top speed without impacting the climb rate negatively (improve it actually) and you're off and flying. Anybody flying a KR with a 1320 pound gross weight limit? Probably not, but a very simple KR2s could be built to the LSA rule with only a couple of limitations, 1) prop pitch, and 2) gross weight of around 950 pounds. This sounds pretty much like an early version of the KR to me. Dan, is your plane signed off or do you have to get that done at the hanger? We finally got sun today along with 20+ mph winds that are supposed to last for a couple days. If the wind and sun cooperate I'll take off work for first flight one day this week. I did take your advise and replaced both my brake lines with the lines in your message. The improvement was nothing short of dramatic. I no longer have any fear of stopping. Thank you for the information. Just a little side note is that the lines need a little bit of modification to get the tubing to fit the compression fittings but nothing that is difficult. I've always wanted a KR.A few months ago fuel prices got me to sell my Bellanca Viking. [ 16 gph cruise,23 on takeoff.I'm usually by myself anyway].So I bought a KR2 project, for $5500.Good quality construction, has flown, a few blisters in the wings that I need to repair BUT doesn't look like I can match the paint...... so I'll repaint the wings.....Oh why not the whole plane! Engine's good [Revmaster 2100D] BUT hey, the factory is only 60 miles away....I'll have them tear it down and inspect it....oh let's just overhaul the whole thing.....Cheap insurance, right! Then there's that retract gear.....It seems fine BUT no one's using it anymore. AND what about those mechanical brakes! Then there's all those cool looking canopy's!!!!................................ Oh where will it end? Where should it end? Projects' lots of fun but when/where do I say no more AND'S or BUT's and just go flying? Are all projects like this? Is there no end to it all? Help!! I'm open to suggestions............Fred --------------------------------- Yahoo! Music Unlimited - Access over 1 million songs. Only a 15 min flight (okay more like 13). Got there about 9:30 am and talked to a few people. Showed off the Corvair engine conversion and met a few Peitenpol and Kr guys. Chuck (Dragonfly-corvair) showed up as well as a Peit-corvair. Had lunch and then did a few high speed passes for the locals. Talked to some more folks. They dropped candy out of a plane and all the kids went dashing through the field to gather it up - Elaine came out with two bags full. Make the dentist real happy. Talked to some more folk. Left about 5 or so and came home. Had a real nice day. 289 hours and counting......
