Q: How does a co-ownership group apply for an aircraft radio station license? A: It should be noted that the Radio Station License is no longer required by FCC for US-registered aircraft. However, there is an ICAO requirement for the license for international travel. You will need a Radio Station License only when travelling in another country. When applying for the license, be certain to include a notice "For International Travel", otherwise your application may be returned unprocessed. I did not know this. I purchased a kr2s kit from a person in South Africa in July 2004. The boat, turtle deck, canopy frame and tail feathers were constructed. My wife almost had a heart attack when she saw it the first time. I have basically been working non stop since I got it. ALONE!! I must add. I posted some pictures at http//jacokr2s.myphotoalbum.com/albums.pnp if any of you are interrested in looking at what I have been up to. Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated. Safe flying. There are first's in life for which there is no way to prepare. They begin at birth and continue. Just as this is true, it is also true that each experience prepares you for the next. Prior to my first KR flight, I read every news letter written. Something's like pitch sensitivity, I expected based on my reading and yet others like the boost in power provided by the turbo, could only be described by expressions like Yeeee Haaaaa. After each mod, comes another first flight and some of these same feeling would emerge. Anticipating what might happen in flight is natural and good. I am thinking to floss them on (no > rivets). Mine are screwed into the firewall with wood screws, and are epoxied AND riveted to the cowling halves. I used regular flush aircraft rivets (not pop rivets) on 1.5" spacing. If flush rivets make you nervous, you could use the large thin-headed ones as shown at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/02051831m.jpg . This is how I did it at first, but didn't like the heads showing (even though they are low-height), so I drilled them out and replaced them, and added another flush rivet between each of the existing holes. Rivets allow you to make sure everything is going to line up (using screws or clecos) before you make it permanent. I would not count on flox or epoxy alone to do that job. On another subject, I put a drawing of my fuel system out there at http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/fuel/ ... That clear flex line runs to the EIS manifold pressure sensor, which has a readout in terms of tenths of an inch of manifold pressure. It's pretty neat! I have a screen over the "main" large intake, and after that, there's another little filter that Facet sells that's screwed into the inlet that protects the pump. The thing that worries me about that filter is that it has very little area, and it wouldn't take much to clog it up, which is where the other system comes into play. On that line I have no filter before the Facet, but a large area filter after it. Between the two of them, something's going to work. And Allen Wiesner suggested a new connection between aux tank the secondary fuel system side, so that's an idea that would give me three places to suck fuel from... Honda used this ignition system on CB750( K&F models), CB900( all models), CB1100 models in Canada and USA. In Europe they called it the CB1000 Bold'or, and would assume it was the same. It was in use from 1979-1982. For the most part all parts should be still available world wide. I see you are running 4 coils for dual plugs. I would be interested in knowing how they are wired since those little silver boxes are only running 2 coils on the bike and you have 4. I think if you lost one of the CDI boxes you will lose 2 coils or half the engines ignition system. Would you only be running on 2 cly. with the other coils. Shawn Hi, Shawn.
