(divide by 3 the prices, but maybe you have better) Eduardo, I tell you that the Spark Control has a cost of $900, to be able to program it you need the Spark control Programmer that has a cost of $900. The group, SC + SCP comes out $1500. It is connected to the exit of the distributor's captor. In the distributor it is necessary to block out the centrifuge advance. The Spark Control takes the signal of the captor, and starting from this, it generates a new signal that is applied to the module of original ignition of the vehicle. This way you can program an angle different from advance each 200 RPM and this way to have the best answer in the motor in the whole régime of RPM. It also possesses the entrance of an analogical sign coming from a sensor of pressure of the admission manifold and this way to define in what load position is the motor. In the map, 8 points of different advance will be seen for each point of RPM, what indicates you that it has 8 points defined by the load, this is good to program the advance depending on the load and this way to take advantage of the fuel at every moment. It also has a second map that is completely programmable and independent of the first one and you can commute it in march, this way you can use it in a vehicle with GNC, (natural compressed gas) or in some injection system of nitrous oxidize. It also has two limits of RPM, one fixed and another that is activated with a pusher and it is usually used as (largador) Shutter? to shut off?. Another thing that it has it is two additional exits to manage some device for RPM and loads. In www.chiprace.com.ar page you have the whole info but detailed with some pictures of the system. I hope it serves you. Rand Robinson Engineering is certainly not doing and R & D and I've read somewhere that the KR2 wing is "borrowed" from another aircraft design anyway, so where is the distinction (rhetorical question). The construction methods are simular to other timber aircraft. The shape and the use of dynel over timber are the real secrets to the KR2 (and keeping it light :-). Here we have someone doing R & D on a dated design (improving the shape and the materials used to build with) and putting these improvements into a kit form to help aviators who my not have the skills, time or patience to build from scratch, at the quoted prices he won't get rich quick, if he even makes a profit. It may be wrong if the Joey 2 was an exact rip off of the KR2 (which it is not) but it is more wrong of Rand Robinson Engineering to hold back progress on a superb aircraft. This is not intended to be total support for the Joey 2, I have only ever talked to Garry and have never bought anything from him. I am supporting the concept of innovation and progress ---------------- the desire to get one's but of the ground and to help similarly minded people. Now I'll get off my soap box (before we get into politics or religion :-) and go and fix my tail wheel which I just broke off this morning, Note: don't use 1/8" aluminium for the tail wheel fork (or land smoother than I :-) regards Barry Kruyssen Cairns, Australia RAA 19-3873 kr2@BigPond.com http://www.users.bigpond.com/kr2/kr2.htm ----- Original Message ----- From: robert glidden It doe's not matter how many changes or improvements he has made,it is still not his design. If that was the case I would be building a Langford,Jones,Wynne,Heath,Horton special.I bet if I was to make a few changes to a Jabaru engine and call it a Bobaru, they would have me in court tomorrow...Just my thought. The story "Bang for the Buck" starts on page 22 with a full page photo of Steve Jones' KR2. The complete story fills a total of nine pages and most respectfully promotes the KR. Excellent article and a big job well done by the EAA and Steve Jones. Thanks guys for the great article on a KR and the excellent promotion. It will help me document the aircraft for the French airworthiness inspectors! The wiring is very simple. It is a fully redndant system: I run two systems, each of which is what you would find in a bike. The bikes have two of these small boxes, I have four. They have two coils, I have four. They have two magnetic pick-ups, I have four. Honda used this ignition system on CB750( K&F models), CB900( all models), CB1100 models in Canada and USA. In Europe they called it the CB1000 Bold'or, and would assume it was the same. It was in use from 1979-1982. For the most part all parts should be still available world wide. I see you are running 4 coils for dual plugs. I would be interested in knowing how they are wired since those little silver boxes are only running 2 coils on the bike and you have 4. I think if you lost one of the CDI boxes you will lose 2 coils or half the engines ignition system. Would you only be running on 2 cly. with the other coils. Shawn Hi, Shawn.
